Sukiyaki Elk


  • 1 ½ lbs. round steak
  • 2 tsp. flour
  • 1 ¼ cup broth
  • 1 tsp. soya sauce
  • 1 tsp. sugar or brown sugar
  • 1 cup celery cut diagonally into long pieces
  • ½ cup thinly sliced green pepper
  • 1 minced onion
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup cooked rice                                           


Cut the steak into cubes or lanners

Brown the meat in hot grease

Combine the flour with the hot grease and add it to the mix.

Add the broth, the sugar, and the soya sauce.

Stir often while heating.

Add the celery, the pepper, the onion and the mushrooms.

Place into an ovenproof dish.

Cook until the meat is tender.

Serve over very hot cooked rice.

Serves 4 to 5.
